Keeping Long Middle School’s Girls Volleyball Team serving!

Long Middle School is a Title 1 school in which 100% of its students qualify as low income. The school only receives a small annual stipend to fund all 14 middle school sports teams for the entire year. As is typical for most Title 1 schools with limited funds for sports programs, girls’ programs tend to get cuts first. For Long Middle School, the girls’ volleyball program struggles the most. The team started from scratch 9 years ago with the families of the student-athletes bearing the expense. They haven’t had new uniforms since they started the team and the old ones were starting to fall apart. They also had old volleyballs that were also falling apart. When Long Middle School contacted All Kids Play for assistance with new uniforms and volleyballs, All Kids Play was eager to help the team.
